Back in May I wrote a post about [among other things] 30 things I wanted to accomplish BEFORE i turned 30. It's the end of the year and a week and a half after my 30th birthday I figured now was a good time to see what I had accomplished.
1 | Run a [1/2] marathon! - Something similar will be on my 2013 list.
2 | Visit a city I have never been to before (not local): NY, Portland, Vegas, LA, Boston, etc...
New York in December is MAGIC
3 | Have one of pups registered as a therapy dog. - Didn't even teach them new tricks...bad Momma.
4 | Go to Disney World. - technically we went during J's Dad's birthday. We live 2 hours from Orlando so going again should not be a problem.
5 | Learn some basic spanish. - No but I have Rosetta Stone for 2013!
6 | Start attending a yoga/Pilates/barre class regularly. - 2013
7 | Stay out all night long one night. - Latest bedtime was 1 AM and that was Christmas Eve.
8 | Create my own signature cupcake. - Nope
9 | Learn to dance with J. - Unless booty dancing in the car and slow dancing in the kitchen counts...
10 | Make a new friend.
11 | FULLY complete a Week in the Life Album - NO.
12 | Attend a killer Halloween Party & dress to impress. - NOPE but we did have some AWESOME costumes!
13 | Visit a new restaurant every month.
Datz, PDQ, Roy's, Shake Shack, Cafe Pitti, Dough,
14 | Learn to play a song on the piano. - uh uh
15 | Have a real photo shoot with J. - nope.
16 | Do something that scares me. - I could say something but it didn't REALLY SCARE ME, so NO.
17 | Read a book a month. - Maybe? I lose count? Kindle does that...
18 | Learn to manage my bills/checking account properly. - Getting SO much better!
Which brings me to my revisions for 2013:
I do not plan on doing a New Years resolution this year. Instead I am focusing on a new 30 before 30 list along with a theme WORD for the year (more on this later). As I noted in the originally post, I have a horrible habit of not finishing things. Especially goals. I love the idea of goals. I WANT to be better at accomplishing goals. For one thing, I set goals that are FAR TOO LOFTY and I certainly don't take them seriously enough. The first of the year I plan on jumping into Elise Blaha Cripe's "I Choose" workshop on goal setting. I am hoping her lead will get me to a space of better goal attainment.
For 2013 I CHOOSE to accomplish the following 30 things in year 30:
1 | Run a 10k.
2 | Visit 3 cities I have never been to before.
3 | Learn some basic Spanish and/or French.
4 | Do something that scares me.
5 | Revamp my blog.
6 | Have a real photo shoot.
7 | Paint on the big canvas.
8 | Make the house feel like home.
9 | Visit a Museum.
10 | Finish a Week In The Life Album.

19 | Practice Yoga once a week.
20 | Scan and Re-Home all old Family Photos.
21 | Finish illustrating our book and publish it.
22 | Take Jason to the Wild North West/ Alaska.
23 | Get my FL driver's licence.
24 | Buy a bike.
